PM Trudeau: Stand on the Right Side of History, Defend Artsakh
Sireli joghovoort,
The painful emotions we are all undoubtedly feeling must be channeled into productive energy. There is still much work to do! This so-called agreement was only a setback; we are a resilient people! We can’t afford to be stagnant. We must continue to support Armenia, and push our politicians to stand up to the peacekeeping ideals they preach. Artsakh is, and will ALWAYS be Armenia.
Today’s Action: Email Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Canadian Parliament
The Canadian government’s empty statements and letters are not enough. We must exert pressure on our government and its leaders to take significant and substantial actions to support Artsakh and Armenia.
We need every single one of you - your parents, your grandparents, your friends, their friends - Armenian or not - to email the Prime Minister and demand that he implements the following measures immediately:
1. Recognize the independence of the Republic of Artsakh to bring lasting peace and deter a second genocide of the Armenian people.
2. Enforce a permanent and unconditional ban on arms sales to Turkey and Azerbaijan in light of the irrefutable evidence of their crimes and human right violations that are now publicly available.
3. Publicly condemn the ongoing aggression from Turkey and Azerbaijan.
4. Establish an Embassy in the Republic of Armenia.
5. Continue working with NATO allies to impose the necessary sanctions on Turkey and reconsider its membership. Apply similar sanctions on Azerbaijan.
6. Advocate for the peaceful and just settlement of the conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship framework that recognizes and respects Artsakh’s Independence and right to self-determination.
Please use the form below and make sure to fill in all the required fields. Above all, share this Action Alert. By Monday morning, Justin Trudeau's email should be full with an email from every single Canadian-Armenian urging the above six points.
Thank you joghovoort!
